Chota Shekeel's close aide Rashid Malbari, who was assigned to eliminate Varun Gadhi and Sri Rama Sene chief, has been taken to Mangalore court on Wednesday. He was arrested the other day along with his aides.

According to the investigating agencies, Rashid was arrested from Kasargod in Kerala based following a telephonic intercept. He was sitting in his den and supervising the operations.

Hailing from Kerala, Rashid lived in Mangalore and Uttar Pradesh during his stint with the D-Company and had a strong network. He was close confidant of Chota Shekeel who has successfully completed many tasks to gain his master's confidence.

How he came to India?
According to investigators, Rashid had chosen the election time to eliminate Varun and Muthalik as he thought of making it look like a political conspiracy in view of their new-found popularity following the recent developments.

The investigators are also probing whether there was any possibility of political nexus. They are also investigating how Rashid managed to sneak into India despite an Interpol alert issued against him.
